The highest viewing point on the mountain of Briol. Like the Feldtuner hut and Gasthof Unterhorn, the Ritter Alp house in the Sarntal Alps is on the summit of the Rittner Horn. Enjoy the 360 degree panorama.

Feldtuner Hut 2046 m
A familiar “stop off” is guaranteed. Surrounded by pasture and just above the tree line, the Feldtuner hut offers impressive views of the mountains. We recommend the route from Briol to Oberhorn and if you still have energy walk up to the Feldturner hut and back again. Walking time varies depending which route you take.

Gasthof Unterhorn 2044 m
You can reach the area around the Rittner Horn by foot or by bike. The Gasthof Unterhorn is a good starting point for many hikes or cycle tours and is also a great destination for excursions from Briol.

Almschank Platzer 2062 m
The Almschank Glatzer is situated on the Barbian Horn above Briol and the Huber Kreuz can be reached via hiking route 4. Not only can you expect a fabulous view but a wide variety of south Tyrolean specialities.

Gasser Hut 1756 m
The Gasser hut is located on the vast Villander Horn and offers fantastic and incredible panoramic views over the Dolomites. Ideal for families who want to explore the high plateau. Not to be missed is the idyllic Toten See.

Rinderplatz Hut 1600 m
The alpine hut on the Villander alp is an ideal starting point for gentle walks or demanding hikes on foot or on mountain bike. Savour South Tyrolean dishes while gazing out at the panorama of the Dolomites.

Mair in Plun Hut 1860 m
The family run Mair in Plun hut is situated on the Villander Alp and is a peaceful, sunny place to enjoy the landscape and mountains. It is also the starting point for favourite hikes such as the Ritter Horn.

Pfroder Alm 2146 m
The Pfroder Alm lies at the foot of the Totenkirchl on the Villander Alp. After passing picture perfect mountain pastures you will reach Pfroder Alm which is 1.5 hours from the carpark. On reaching the Pfroder Alm it’s worth hiking up to the Totenkirchl and/or a detour over the ridge to the weather cross. You will also pass the Mair alpine hut in Plun on the way.

Stöffl Hut 2057 m
This cosy mountain hut is situated on the Villander-Latzfonser Alp. It can serve as a starting point or destination for mountain hikes and mountain bike tours. Your constant companion – the beautiful Dolomites.

Schatzer Hut 2004 m
Idyllically situated on the Plose above Brixen, the Schatzer Hut was built in 1926. “It’s a byword for cosiness” – a hike which is suitable for all age groups. The Schatzer Hut is an ideal starting point for hikers and mountain bikers on strenuous excursions. The Aferer Geisler and Peiler Kofel provide a fantastic mountain backdrop.

Schlüter Hut 2306 m
The historic Schlüter Hut/Rifugio Genova is nestled into the alpine pastures between the Geisler group and the Peitlerkofel in the Puez – Geisler Nature Park, a part of the Dolomites world heritage site. Reaching the Schlüter Hut, stay and enjoy the rest of the day or use it as a starting point to go on a gentle or demanding high altitude hike. To really let off steam we recommend you ride your mountain bike from the Zans carpark to the Schlüter Hut and then climb by foot to the summit.

Rossalm 2200 m
The Rossalm is situated on the Brixner Hausberg of Plose. It offers spectacular hiking routes with views onto the Geisler and Peitler Kofel. Spoil yourself on the large sun terrace with South Tyrolean cuisine and enjoy the panorama. You can also reach Rossalm directly by car before 10:00 and after 17:00.

Schutzhaus Latzfonser Kreuz 2305 m
The refuge is situated in the Sarntaler Alps, starting point for a popular tour of the Kassianspitze. The Latzfonser cross is located next to the hut and is a popular excursion with its pilgrimage church.

Flagger Scharten Hut 2481 m
The Schutzhütte is located in the Sarntaler Alps north east of Flaggenscharte on the spectacular Flaggersee. You can reach the Jakobsspitze or the Tagewaldhorn from the Flagger Scharten hut.

Möltner Kaser
Idyllically situated on the Salten in the Sarntaler Alps, there is the Möltner Kaser cattle hut and hostelry. It is a starting point for walks to the “Stoanernen Mandeln" and can also be reached by mountain bike.

Radlsee Hut 2284 m
Another beautiful hiking area can be found in the Sarntaler Alps. The secluded Radlsee hut is one of the most popular destinations. Many other summit routes are possible from the Radlsee hut and you can reach many neighbouring huts. Enjoy regional cuisine in the cosy lounge and look out onto a unique view of the Dolomites.
